The Policy and Economic Research Institute is one of the most important core departments of CAICT with profound and systematic studies to support the government in areas of development strategies, laws and regulations, digital economy, information communication development and supervision, integration of IT application and industrialization and industrial policies. Its clients include the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), China Administration of Cyberspace (CAC), National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and other government agencies. In the past two years, it has supported the drafting of several national documents such as The Made in China 2025, The Guiding Opinions of the State Council on Actively Promoting the Internet Plus Actions The Guiding Opinions of the State Council on Enhancing the Integrated Development of the Manufacturing Industry and the Internet, TheGuiding Opinions of the State Council on Further Expanding and Upgrading Information Consumption to Continuously Unlock the Potential of Domestic Demands, The Guiding Opinions of the State Council on Enhancing “Internet + Advanced Manufacture” to Develop the Industrial Internet as well as other documents and policies of the State Council and MIIT.
