The West Institute of CAICT (hereinafter referred to as the “West Institute”) was established in October 2010 through the cooperation among CAICT, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information and Chongqing Nan’an District Government. Its office is located at the National Mobile Communications Industry Base in Chayuan New Zone, Nan’an District of Chongqing. Its target and mission is to support the ICT industry’s development in the Chongqing-centered Western China, particularly to drive and promote the mobile terminal industry and IoT industry to transfer to inland from the costal region and develop in local places with technical research, testing and certification, consulting and training services, as well as to provide support to local governments. The West Institute is a subsidiary of CAICT set up under the approval of the MIIT in a different place. Currently, it is a national public technology testing service platform in the central and western regions, operated and managed by the CAICT and guided locally by Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information. In order to facilitate its work in Chongqing, the West Institute has registered as an independent legal entity - “Chongqing Institute of Telecommunications”.

  Main services: testing and certification for electronic and information, communications, IoT and telematics products; IoT technology and standardization research, IoT application solution development; consulting and planning services for the ICT field; and IoT skill and talent training.
