Cloud Computing and Big Data Research Institute was established in October 2017, is one of the core departments of CAICT, which focus on emerging technologies, industries, business models of the Internet.
Background
The Chinese government attaches great importance to the development of emerging information technologies and industries, such as cloud computing, big data and artificial intelligence. In recent years, China has implemented the national strategy of cyberspace and promoted the “Internet+” plan of action. The State Council issued macro-strategic plans such as Promoting the Innovation and Development of Cloud Computing , Action Outline for Promoting Big Data Development , Development Plan for the New Generation of Artificial Intelligence and so on. CAICT issued the " 2018-2020 3-years Plan of Action", which takes cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence as the key areas in the next years.
Business Scope
Cloud Computing and Dig Data Research Institute conducts technical and standard research around cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, data center and related applications , builds testing and statistical platform for related technologies, undertakes the testing and evaluation of related services and products, Undertakes the national scientific and technological projects, industrialization projects. The institute also provides consulting services in related technical fields.
Organization
There are six secondary departments in the Cloud Computing and Big Data Institute: (A) Artificial Intelligence Department, (B) Big Data Department, (C) Cloud Computing Department, (D) Data Center Department, (E) E-Health Department, (Z) General Affairs Department (including Fin-Tech Team).
