The First Workgroup Meeting of the Trusted Blockchain Promotion Program Was Held  

On May 14, 2018, the First Workgroup Meeting of the Trusted Blockchain Promotion Program was held in the F1 Lecture Hall of 3G Building of CAICT. 72 technical principals from 54 member units attended the meeting.
The blockchain technology enjoys the potential force of subversion, but currently faces the issues of immature technology and lack of industrial standard. In order to implement the 13th “Five-Year” Plan on National Informatization of the State Council, set a stage for government-enterprise-university-research institute cooperation and promote integration of blockchain technology with real economy, CAICT launched the Trusted Blockchain Promotion Program on April 9. The meeting was the first workgroup meeting of the Program and the main task was to discuss iterative upgrade of trusted blockchain standards, benchmark test tools and work plans on evaluation.
Director Wei Kai of Big Data Department in CAICT Cloud Computing and Big Data Research Institute chaired the meeting and introduced the general status of the Trusted Blockchain Promotion Program. Ph.D Qing Sude, Blockchain Director of CAICT Cloud Computing and Big Data Research Institute, introduced specific work progress of the Program and sought opinions of the experts present on necessity and rationality of setting up project teams for privacy protection and technical architecture.
On behalf of the workgroup, CAICT senior expert Yang Baixue in blockchain consulted opinions of the experts present at the meeting regarding revisions of trusted blockchain standards on the basis of collection of early-stage pre-test data and testing experience. Revisions were mainly focused on segmentation of application scenarios, classification of account model, newly added test metrics and function point and content to be revised in the current standards. After thorough exchanges among the experts, iterative upgrade of trusted blockchain standards took a solid step towards reaching broad industrial consensus. At the meeting, experts from such member units as Tencent Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., Qihoo 360 Technology Co., Ltd., Shanghai Insurance Exchange Co., Ltd., Union Mobile Financial Technology Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Ant Micro Financial Service Group Co., Ltd., China Unicom, China Mobile Research Institute, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., SAP (China) Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Qulian Technology Ltd., Baidu Online Network Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., Bubi (Beijing) Network Technology Co., Ltd., ChainNova Data Technology (Nantong) Co., Ltd. and Beijing Bochen Technology Co., Ltd. made comments on the iterative upgrade of trusted blockchain standards and had heated discussions with participants of the meeting.
Towards the end, Ph.D Qing Sude expressed gratitude to the guests present at the meeting for their suggestions and said that the successful convention of the First Workgroup Meeting signaled periodical achievement made in iterative upgrade of trusted blockchain standards. In the future, the Trusted Blockchain Promotion Program will discuss and promote the TrustedBench development plan to gain greater international say for China in global blockchain standard-making.
