In order to enhance the ability of ICTs in serving finance and support the two-way cross-sector supervision, industrial consultation and standard making between finance and technology, CAICT Cloud Computing & Big Data Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as the “Institute”) officially founded the Research Center of Finance and Technology (hereinafter referred to as the “Center”) on May 10, 2018. The Center will fully tap into the research ability and resource advantage of the Institute in AI, big data, blockchain, cloud computing and data center and serve as the bridge between the financial industry and the technology sector to promote application and development of financial technologies.

 The Center consists of 10 departments as follows:

1. Intelligent Finance Department
Study application scenarios of artificial intelligence in the financial sector such as intelligent customer acquisition, identity recognition and intelligent customer service as well as machine learning algorithms; study how to utilize AI to improve risk prevention & control ability in the banking, securities and insurance industry; study business risks and legal and compliance issues presented by financial technology and study establishment of AI-based prevention and disposal system of financial crimes.

2. Department of Financial Big Data
