On June 1, 2018, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (hereinafter referred to as “CAICT”) and iFLYTEK Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “iFLYTEK”) signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Deputy Secretary of the CPC Nanjing Municipal Committee and Mayor LanShaomin attended and witnessed the signing ceremony. Deputy Secretary of CAICT Party Committee QiaoFamin and iFLYTEK Rotating President Chen Tao respectively represented the two sides as the undersigned. The two parties will make high-level and in-depth cooperation in fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, smart terminals, virtual reality and smart healthcare in multiple forms, contributing to the application and industrial development of AI and related fields in China.
CAICT is a scientific research institute directly under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China. While sticking to the positioning of “a specialized think-tank for the government, and an innovation and development platform for the industry” and cherishing the cultural philosophy of “boosting prosperity with virtues and expertise”, CAICT provides strong support to major strategies, plans, policies, standards, testing and certification for the industry development, proving itself an important facilitator in the leapfrog development and innovation of China’s information and communications industry.
iFLYTEKis a national key software enterprise dedicated to the research of intelligent speech and language technologies, development of software and chip products, and provision of speech information services.As a leading provider of intelligent speech technology, iFLYTEK has achieved the international advanced results in many core technologies including speech synthesis, speech recognition, oral language evaluation, and natural language processing.
According to the agreement, CAICT and iFLYTEK will cooperate on research projects, planning and technology consulting, industrial public service platform and professional technology platform building, technology and business evaluation and tests, as well as standards development in the fields such as AI and big data, in order to promote the in-depth application of AI, big data, smart terminals, virtual reality, smart healthcare and other technologies, and assistthe AI industry towards steady and high-quality development.
