In the afternoon of November 2, 2018, Dr. Robert Kahn, "Father of the Internet", founder of Digital Object Architecture (DOA) and Handle Technology, president of the National Innovation Research Institute (CNRI), and Ms. Patrice Lyons, legal adviser of CNRI, Mr. Sun Xun, the senior researcher at CNRI and head of the Handle team visited CAICT. This is the second time that Mr. Robert Kahn visited CAICT since 2017. CAICT’s President Ms. Liu Duo and Chief Engineer Mr. Yu Xiaohui and members of the top node working preparatory group participated in the exchange. Mr. Gao Xinmin, Board Member of DONA Foundation and Mr. Zhen Xihui, Coordinator of MPA in China participated also joined the exchange..
During Dr. Robert Kahn’s visit in 2017, he and Ms. Liu reached a series of consensus on strengthening cooperation. In the past year, the Industrial Internet Identification Team of CAICT has been working closely with the CNRI technical team and has made great progress in promoting the development of DOA and Handle technologies and their applications in the Industrial Internet Identification System. The exchange aims to consolidate the consensus and achievements that have been achieved and to clarify the direction and goals of cooperation in the future, which will help promote the establishment of the ecology of the industrial internet identification industry.
Ms. Liu expressed her warm welcome to Dr. Robert Kahn and his delegation for the second visit to CAICT and expressed gratitude for his efforts on the promotion of cooperation between DONA, CNRI and Chinese communities. She also introduced the Industrial Internet Identification Team of CAICT and the work that is being carried out. Dr. Robert Kahn expressed his gratitude to Ms. Liu and was very pleased to visit CAICT and participate in this exchange again. He also appreciated the CAICT’s efforts on the promotion of cooperation and exchange as well as the achievements made in the research and foundation of the identification system. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on the technology and application of the industrial Internet identification system in China, the development and integration of between the industrial Internet identification system and DOA as well as Handle technologies, and the promotion of interaction and cooperation between Chinese community and DONA. They have initially determined the direction and goals for the next step of cooperation.
Finally, on behalf of CAICT, Ms. Liu invited Dr. Robert Kahn and his team to visit again next year. Dr. Robert Kahn expressed his gratitude to the invitation and also invited Ms. Liu and the team of CAICT to visit CNRI.
