“ICT Technology Test & Certification Workshop Between Lancang-Mekong Countries” Was Successfully Held  

  Recently, the “ICT Technology Test & Certification Workshop Between Lancang-Mekong Countries” sponsored by China Telecommunication Technology Labs of CAICT was successfully held in Hangzhou.

  

  More than 30 officials, experts and scholars from competent government organs, major operators, research institutions, test & certification authorities of ICT technology of Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam and other countries participated in the workshop. The workshop was held in a lively, relaxed and friendly atmosphere, with active participation of the attendees.

  Zhengkai, Director of the Asia Division of the International Cooperation Department of the MIIT, and Shi Denian, Assistant Chief Engineer of CAICT, addressed the workshop.

  The workshop is an important response of China Telecommunication Technology Labs of CAICT to the “Belt and Road" Initiative of China. The China Telecommunication Technology Labs carefully organized the courses and workshop contents based on exchanges and demand survey during previous visits to Lancang-Mekong countries. The workshop was held from October 29 to November 1, covering the technical training, workshop and visits of ICT technology test & certification.

  During training, the China Telecommunication Technology Labs briefed 30 officials, experts and scholars from five countries on the status quo of ICT industry in China, ICT technology test & certification regulatory system, new ICT technologies and the specialized testing technologies of various ICT equipment. The training topic features a wide range and practical contents. During the training, the foreign guests asked questions actively in a warm atmosphere.

  

  During the workshop, foreign guests visited Jiashan Intelligent Manufacturing Factory of Futong Group Co., Ltd., a famous telecommunication infrastructure equipment manufacturer of China. They were deeply impressed by the intelligent manufacturing factory, which represents the leading level of optical fiber cable production in China.

  

  In addition to foreign guests, more than 20 Chinese telecommunication equipment enterprises also participated in the workshop. At the workshop, representatives from various countries introduced the status quo and demands of their ICT industries respectively, and representatives from seven Chinese enterprises delivered speeches at the workshop. The workshop created a positive platform for Chinese enterprises to show their strengths and communicate directly with experts from ICT institutions in Lancang-Mekong countries.

  Before the end of the workshop, the survey on participants from various countries indicated that they had favorable overall evaluation on the training and workshop, and want more similar activities organized by us. They also put forward suggestions and opinions for future training topics and improvement.
